body maybe or a suspension

now i wanted a 4in suspension lift run around 1 grand and get some 33's for the truck now i am thinking about getting like a 3in body now what does the suspension have over the body

 

plus how hard would it be to do a body lift your self i know suspension is hard but i can do it is body easyer or harder

 

i also need new shocks what would be good to run.

I personally dont like body lifts. But if all you want is to put some 33's on it that would be cheaper. If you go off-road at all i would get a suspension lift.

Do it right with a suspension lift. A body lift is just for looks... if you plan on any serious offroading, you'll need a suspension lift.

I can't disagree with the above comments about which type of lift to do for which purpose. What I can comment on is the body lift and ease of installation.

 

I put a 3" body lift into my truck, took me about 10 hours by myself. The one advantage I had is being in a fully stocked garage on a military base. They had all the tools I needed to include air and power wrenches.

 

Being as your truck is older you will have some other work to be done as well. Mine is completely electronic so I didn't have to do any welding to extend shifters and such. You may have to do some of that so unless you can handle that work be sure you have someone with you who can do it.

thanks everyone i was thinking bc i dont make alot of money i am still a teen and i love racing quads soo most my money goes into that. go with 3in body with new shocks it needs it and get some 33's on there have the look and give me alittle higher in the air then some day get a 4in suspension i founda guy will to do it 300 that does count the body lift it self

yeah im a teenager, (19) and i went with a fabtech suspension lift and i love it, best thing i've done with money in awhile, its a ball to off road in too, and i spent $4,600 on the lift, wheels, tires all installed. so yeah i had to save for quite awhile making only $7.50 an hour but it'll GIT R' DONE
