2005 GMC Crew Cab Alignment Problem

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a 2005 Serria 1500 crew cab, 2wd and I had Daystar front coil spring spacers installed (1 1/2 inch lift), and a I installed a set of bilstein shocks. I had the alignment adjusted back to factory specs per Daystar's instructions.

I rotate my tires every 6000 miles, and run 36psi cold. Before this installation my truck use to float over bumps alittle but it drove excellent and the tire wear was even.

Now my General Americrap tires are cupping on the outside, and the steering is squirrly like I'm driving on a pair of ice skates (Squels turning in a parking lot).

At least the bilstein shocks are doing their job, but it seems to me that the camber needs to be adjusted negative to compensate for the wear.

I had the Kaufmann tire shop that did the original alignment check and adjust it twice since then, and also took it to my GMC dealer and let them take a crack at it, and you guessed it, "Sir it is in factory specs" :D . Any help would greatly be appreciated especially since I plan on putting on a new set of Michelin LTX-M/S tires. Thanks
