Speaker Install

Ok, this is one of my last posts...I swear :) . I'm going to install a pair of Kicker 6 1/2" KS60 speakers into my front door panels and do you think its possible to do it without the speaker brackets. What I would do is just drill some holes in the metal frame that holds the factory speaker. Thanks for your help...again!

you could just screw them right into the front door panles where the old ones where sitting before. you would not need the specker brackets from them unless you took a bose system out.

Yes Beretta, It isnt a big deal Drilling the holes. I just installed Infiniti Kappa's in the front and Rockford power t162c in the rear. For the Front you do need to drill holes and no its not to difficult and i dont have much experience at all in this stuff. All i did was remove the old speakers and Line up the new speakers Then mark the holes with marker. You also need 4 screws. Then get a drill bit that looks a tad bit smaller than the screws diameter. i just estimated, its not to hard. Then drill the holes, Connect the Speakers, and Screw the Speakers in. Very simple. The rear is even easier, because the screws and holes are already there. The front took me about an hour a door, but i dont work to fast, and the back took about 20 minutes per door.

Just get some self tapping screws and you dont even have to drill holes, it worked great for me.

Also what size are the rear door speakers in an extended cab 5"? Thanks.
