Belt Squeals with ABS

The harder i press on my brake when the ABS is engaged, the harder my lights dim. At one point, the harder i press on the pedal, the more the belt actually squeals on the engine...what gives? Alternator going?

 

99 4.3L V6 NO A/C

You're using electrical power and vacuum to use your brakes. This puts a load on your engine, and the 4.3 isn't the worlds strongest engine. It's pretty normal.
