My G-Tech reads 250 RWHP bone stock. So I think GM is spot on.

Hardav- It deepens on which 6.0L you have. Sounds like he has the same as me... The LQ4. I'm in the process of getting a Wheatley Tune so I can "Release the Hounds"

I thought the 2007 6.0 Liters are suppose to have 367 HP and 375 Ftlbs of TQ

Like ridgekid said, the LQ4 6.0L in the 2007 Classic models are 300 hp/360 tq. The L76 6.0L that's in the new GMT-900 trucks is 367 hp. That's also measured at the crankshaft, not at the rear wheels like Ductape did. Also, GM's ultra-conservative PCM tuning means you're getting even less, so get a tune to get all your ponies back.

Geohawk, I believe the rated hp is WITH the conservative tune from GM...at least that has been my experience with dyno testng so far. When you improve the stock tune, your hp climbs significantly past the GM rating..

ex. My 1994 LT1 camaro was rated 275 crank hp and I put down 269 to the wheels with minor pcm tuning and a borla catback...no other mods.

yeah be leary of the new 6.0L in the 07's. Edmunds has one in their long term fleet and they were complaining about it feeling kind of doggish and at first related that to the 4spd auto but they dynoed it along side a titan and the new tundra. When they dynoed the silverado it wasn't putting anywhere near the advertised horsepower to the ground and then all the sudden at it spiked closer to the redline. They did some follow-up with GM engineers and apparently GM programmed the fuel delivery in the truck to not come on to absolute full throttle untill after the pedal is mashed for 4 seconds to help save fuel. I'm not sure if this is just for the 6.0 or all the v8's or just in the 1/2 ton. I'm sure this is defeatable with a little PCM reflashing but still annoying. It's like the stupid 1-4 shift in the 6spd manual f-bodys and corvettes! The interesting thing was the titan put just about the same number of horsepower down to the ground as the new Tundra! so someone isn't telling the truth there.

Here's my dyno sheet from my 02 6.0L. The green is baseline and the red is after the 93 octane tune. The real numbers are a the bottom.

I should have said we are getting less than the engine can put out "most of the time." I am referring to GM's use of "torque management" on the newer motors with electronic throttle control and primarily automatic transmissions. GM's timing tables retard spark timing and reduce throttle position to reduce engine power in an effort to protect the driveline and increase fuel economy. This would not apply to your LT1 and didn't apply to the LS1 in my GTO that had mechanical throttle linkage. My truck isn't really making much more peak power since my tune (I just went with an 87 octane tune but got rid of TM and firmed up the shifts), but now that TM is gone I can actually break the tires loose from a stop on dry pavement.

I would imagine GM could get in a little hot water if the engines installed in their vehicles did not make their advertised horsepower at least at somepoint. Anyone remember Mazda getting in the same situation with their Miata and RX-8 that didn't make the advertised HP, and it happened with Ford too and their Mustang Cobra. They ended up either buying the vehicles back or giving the owners $$ to make them happy.

Freyguy, I can't read what your peak numbers ended up being. Must be this crappy, cheap Chinese monitor.

Hey Guys new here -

When talking about a tune, what seems to the be the most popular tuner?

Does fuel economy seem to improve with a mild tune?

TIA-

John
