Nerf Bars

Have an 06 1500 Z71 extended cab (4 dr) and looking to get some Nerf Bars. Lowest price locally is $244 installed, but found some on the internet and delivered to house for $181.

 

So, deciding between Westin and Raptor...and I'd like anyones experience/knowledge with either of them..

i have westin nerf bars that came stock on my 06 sierra...i like 'em

i had westin's on my old truck, i liked them. there really isnt much of a difference from company to company i think- theyre all your basic solid steel bolt to the frame nerf bar some just look different than others in my opinion. if you get the ones that go from wheel well to wheel well post a pic, id like to see what they look like in real life.

I got westin oval's I picked up from summit that I like.

My Westin's aren't solid tube. There's a seam on the underside along the length of them (right where they're starting to rust at)

They were on the truck when I got it. If I'd had a choice of having them or not, I'd probably pick not.

Even if ya use them for getting in/out of your truck, (for me atleast) my pant leg always rubs against it.

And I always end up having salt /snow/slush (now that it's winter) or mud (in the warmer months) all over them !

Once things warm up a bit, mine are coming off.

Although, they did stop my rocker panel from getting busted up doing some fun 4-wheelin', but a rock hit right where the seam is and put a pretty good dent in it.

I have the black westin on mine. I like them but I also have to watch out when getting in/out of the truck. They have a tendency of holding mud or whatver on them and always gets my pants dirty as well. They also saved the rocker panel on my truck once or twice. I have had them for about 5 years and when these go, I will buy some more. I like them a heck of a lot better than running boards. They are easy to install also. Mine took two bolts (each side) and they were on!

Nasta on mine. SS with SS hardware and brackets as well. Think mine were about $240 shipped for a CC.

Noticed the Westins only come with a 3 year warranty.

I ordered the Raptor Nerf Bars, delivered to my house for $179 on-line. They have a limited lifetime warranty..

Once I get them this week and install them, I'll post a pic.
