Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am a new HD CC owner. :D I've been looking through this forum, and seems to be a great place to learn about GM'S.

I am looking to lift mine 6" and put 35 mud terrains on it. Who's got the best looking/ (safe) lift out there????

I like the Rancho red, maybe the Fabtech blue? My HD is summit white....

Help me out guys...thanks

Hi and welcome!!

The most popular are the Rancho and Superlifts i think.

I have a ProComp and others have Fabtechs and RCD's

IMO, if you want flat CV shafts and 6" go for ProComp or Superlift.

If you want what is arguably the best lift, go with CST, but better have some cash :D

What did the lift kit do to everyones milage?

Dont know about the lift alone, but lift with larger tires and gears has me down to about 13.5 mpg w/80% highway use.

Hey,

We just picked up our 02' crew 2500HD on 07/03 from the truck shop and had an 8" fabtech lift installed on 37" all terrain T/A's and are quit happy with it. it rides really nice even with dual shocks up front. I can't speak for other lifts because I haven't ridin in them or looked real close but I know Fabtech has a good rep.:lookaround:

My vote is for CST (California Super Trucks) although it is a bit pricey, about $3000, you can get it powder coated to match your truck.

If you are looking to do it yourself, very straightforward and all the bolt holes line up where they are supposed to, a little bit of cutting and a small plate needs to be welded in ( a wire feed is fine) and it is as close to a "drop in" kit as any.  For the price you also get a new front drive shaft to go with your new suspension geometry.

I went with the Fabtech 6" kit with 315/75-16 BFG all terrains.  I don't like the colored up kits, so my kit was special ordered in black.  I've been extremely happy with the looks & the ride quality.  It also has no problem pulling my 26' enclosed car hauler.  I'd buy the Fabtech again in a heartbeat!
