I had a friend of mine hook my truck up to his computer because i have been thinking that my tranny is having a problem, and the code reader read 1 current code.

P0705C Transmission Range Switch Circuit - this is what it actually read on the code reader screen

All i could find online was these two:

P0705 Trans Range Switch Circuit

or

P0705 Transmission Range Sensor Circuit malfunction (PRNDL Input)

I wasnt sure which it was and there was no mention of the C at the end of the code

Also i don't know what this code means or what i should check.

The tranny has been having a small kick shifting from 1st to 2nd but only when going slow to medium speeds. When you accelerate fast there is no kick at all its smooth.

It also has a clunk going from park to reverse but NOT from reverse to park or from any other gear anywhere.

So i was wondering what you guys think i should do with this code?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Matt

Anyone have an idea?

According to GM SI you should check the connection at the selector switch on the side of the trans first if this is ok the check the adjustment of the switch, by loosing and sligtly rotating the switch. If that does not correct it the next step is to replace the switch. As far as the clunk, check your u-joints for binding.
