P1441 - Evaporative Emission System Flow During Non-Purge

My dad (97 silverado 1500) got this one when he changed his fuel sender unit, was a bad seal on top of the tank, so I would look for broken hoses going to the tank, gas cap and possibly a leak somewhere ontop of the tank where the sending unit goes.

He fixed his with some tile caulk I think (yeah, dont tell me its a bad idea, I warned him) But, he cleared the error and is up and running again.

This DTC tests for undesired intake manifold vacuum flow to the evaporative emission (EVAP) system. The control module seals the EVAP system by commanding the EVAP purge valve OFF, closed, and the EVAP vent valve ON, closed. The control module monitors the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor to determine if a vacuum is being drawn on the EVAP system. If the vacuum in the EVAP system is more than a predetermined value within a predetermined time, DTC P1441 will set.

Check The Evap purge valve for leakage.
