Getting ready to pull the trigger on either 07 Yukon XL Denali or Yukon XL. Price and the 6.2L motor have me a little hesitant on the Denali. What should I expect to pay? I have a GM Supplier certificate number, is this a better price than invoice? What is a typical invoice price percentage off MSRP? I know a few years back it was like 12% off MSRP, has that changed because now I see invoice pricing at only about 8% off MSRP.

 

Any help would be appreciated

You need to figure out what GMS is and then bargin down from that. I don't pay any more then GMS on GM vehicles for any reason. I would go for the Denali instead of the SLT. There are some weird option packages on these NBS vehicles and it really best to go for the top trim level if you can afford it.

Thanks for the reply. Like I said, I think invoice pricing is at least 12% off, your price was about 13% off. If you consider the dealer is getting about a 3% holdback that equates to about $1500 in profit, not bad for a walkin buyer knowing what they want and ordering it, very little work for the salesman or the dealer.

 

Have you had your truck long enough to get any read on the MPG? That bigger motor has me a little concerned over MPG, I would guess 2MPG less than the 5.3L. With gas around here at $2.65 a gallon and not bound to get any better, 2MPG over 100,000 miles can add up.

GMS shows about 8% off MSRP. I have done better than that in the past by just walking in and telling the salesman I can buy the vehicle at another dealership at invoice. Some will say we can't sell at invoice and I walk. Someone will always sell at invoice and sometimes below if you hit them on the right day and they are trying to make quota for the month.

 

Just compared the Denali to the XL at the Kansas City car show this week, Denali trim level is far and above the XL. I was very impressed with the Denali.

I have the shorty Denali as well. It is simply an awesome truck. Sticker on mine was 53K or so. It had everything but the navigation which I didn't want anyway. I like to take my Nav. with me when I go out of town so I have a portable to go into rental cars, etc... Price was 42,800 with Supplier Discount on 12-31-06. Last day of the year. Black on Black and they even tossed in the custom matched painted mud-flaps. Has the polished aluminum rims, not the chrome 20" which is to much bling for my taste.

The DIC says 12.4 (avg), still on the first tank from the dealer which was regular. I plan on filling with premium and see if there is any difference.

My 07 Tahoe reads 15.3 on the DIC with 3K miles and M1 in the crankcase.
