Since I have sold my Silverado, I have a Volant Cool Air Intake for sale.

 

Model # 15853, this Cool Air Intake will fit the 99' - 06' Silverado/Sierra 4.8/5.3/6.0 liter engine. All hoses, clamps and hardware included. All show zero to minimal wear since most of the package is made of polyethylene duct. Manufacturer's instructions are also included and this item will be shipped in it's original box.

I had this intake on my 04' Silverado 5.3 liter engine for approximately one year. Worked great... no more lag on acceleration, deep throaty sound under WOT and an increase in miles per gallon (although not by much for me since I have a lead foot).

 

I am asking $150 + shipping costs to be determined by your location.

The 15053 model is Volant's latest version. It has a newer style box/cover but the setup is essentially the same as mine. The 15853 model was the only one to buy for the 99'-06' Silverado when I bought the system in 05'.

 

 

On Volant's website, search for model #15853, click on the description and there will be a picture of my setup. Volant's customer service should also be able to reassure you if you still have any doubts.

i would be interested if i could get a strait answer out of volant. i have an 07 classic same as an 06. They try to tell me i need the new updated part number, but the new updated # says 99-06. So i dont see why it wont work. They just keep giving me the same line of crap that i need the new #. I dont know.

Sounds as if Volant just wants you to buy their latest product for $300. They don't make a profit selling previously bought merchandise so of course they will favor the latest and greatest.

 

On the other hand, all you have is my word as the seller of used equipment is that what I have works. All I can tell you is that this product worked well for me for the time it was installed. I had no problems with installation (about 15 minutes out of the box to in the truck using only sockets and screwdrivers). I liked it so much I bought another system for my 07' Trailblazer.

 

For the price advertised, I thought this would be a good deal for someone looking to upgrade to a CAI for about half of what new costs.

 

In the end, you will have to decide what is best for you and your truck. Don't just take my word for it or Volant's. Research for yourself.

USPS Priority Mail is $14.50 with no shipping insurance. Insurance is probably another $3-$4.

 

UPS Ground is $13.72 and I think they have insurance up to $100 merchandise. Again UPS insurance is probably another $3-$4.
