03 Denali Shutter

When I roll into the throttle from a stop, there is a shutter (it sounds like it is coming from the front right side of the engine compartment). It only happens between 1000 and 1500 rpm and around 5 to 10mph. I cannot make it do it all of the time. A friend of mine is a GM tech, and he said that he had seen Escalades of the same year with similar symptoms, and it was the A/C compressor. The problem exists with or without the A/C on. Any ideas will be much appreciated.

Hey Todd this condition sounds like an exhaust moan. From my experience this happens like you say @ about 1200rpm some times you can power brake and feather the gas to duplicate concern. Usually you will get a vibration sound from the pass. side of the dash area. If this condition sound the same, Then I would recommend hanging wights on your exhaust. You will need a welder to preform this procedure. Note this only applies to single exhaust pipe in to and out of the muffler. You will need to place one set of wights in front of muffler and the anther set some were between the muffler and the bend for the rear axle, the hardest part is fine tuning to make sure the noise is gone. I would recommend taking to your local dealer or have your buddy help you out. Gm part # 10199233 you will need 4 of them also need 2 clamps I think but not sure 2 3/4"
