New Truck Prices

It looks like the prices of new Chevy trucks are way up compared to last year's models. Just a year ago, a brand new fully loaded new Duramax 2500 crew cab 4X4 could be bought for about $ 36k. Now I see them priced at $ 48k for the same truck? And I am comparing apples to apples as the pricing is from the same Chevy dealers on eBay who try to be as competitive as possible. I do not think paying $ 12k more for a different body style is worth it.

And it's the same thing for light duty trucks. Now you barely get a work truck for the money you would have spent on an LT3 package truck just a year ago.

And where is the promised new 6 speed GM auto transmission in gas engine 1500 series?

I have no clue where you are getting your $36,000 price from last year. The dealers around here were well above $40,000 for a loaded Duramax. I bought my truck a week ago and I found Duramax'z from 44 to 48,000. I don't think they are that far off from last year. Jay

He is comparing a older model marked down with incentives to a new model is the problem, compare prices in august and september when they have a 100+ trucks sitting on there lot and then compare prices. Still regardless when like equiped models are priced the chevys are still about 3-4 grand cheaper then a like equiped tundra!

Lets also not forget the fact that it is a all around better truck then the 800's, christ people you dont get a nicer truck with better features and a much nicer interior and then expect them to lower the price! Man bitch at them for a better truck, they make it then people bitch at them because it cost more then last years older model! Also everyone seems to forget it is still priced lower then the compition while getting higher ratings, wtf do some of you want from gm!

The price was for a new 2006 LT3 package crew cab 4x4 2500 truck with the Duramax and Allison package. Prices at dealer's invoice minus all applicable incentives. ( GM card rebate NOT included). Maybe it was $ 36K and change, but it was below $ 37K.

This price was being offered by a local dealer here in Florida and when I checked it out it was for real.

It is only temporary. With gas prices up about 86 cents/gallon since January '07 and GM financial problems, these prices will drop way down in a few months. Guaranteed.
