First Oil Change?

well when i bought my truck of course non of the salesmen know their ass from a hole in the ground about engines or cars / trucks in general.

how many miles is a good point to give it the first oil change, and how long should i wait to change it to mobile1 synthetic?

im at 1,000 miles and there isnt a spec of anything in the oil so i figure its fine.

normally when i rebuild an engine it takes quite a few changes to get the shavings out from rings seating in but you never really see that on new stuff anymore.

You can change it anytime. IMO, Id go at least 3K. Then the Synthetic at OLM intervals.

That's about right.

Mine went about 130,000 miles before it's first tune up, and it was fine. I really only did it cause I knew it was about time. lol
