I'm kicking around looking for a 03 or 04 extended cab short bed DMax(if I can find one) Whats a good price and mileage to look for? Anything else in particular on these? can't remember which years had the injector and over heating issues.

Check out AUTOTRADER.COM there you can get a pretty good idea of what the averages are for your wanted options, style, year, milage, etc.,.

the diesel will hold its value really well, in most cases the diesel will be more. Check Ebay. I have seen 2003+ go for 20,000-50,000. Alot of the D-max's you will find will have a pretty decent amount of miles on them, also playing into the price. Again, Ebay has almost 100 listings on Duramax's alone, just for you to get a price idea with.

A diesel is going to cost you a lot extra. My has has a loaded 03 crew cab d-max, and the KBB trade in value is still $17,000, even with the 170K he has on the truck. Now, 100K on a d-max is nothing, they will run a lot longer than that, but its up to you if you want to drop at least $20k on a truck with 100,000 miles. It is almost smarter to pay more, and get either a brand new one, or one with around 20, 000 miles, because that way it will hold its value for you a lot longer. I was just looking at an 02 black extended cab LT d-max with 72k on it and they wanted $23,000....

The price I listed from a dealer access only wholesale auction in SC. If you want, I may be able to check the same price in your area.
