Milage With Lmm?

Well my dad is considering a new truck because he really likes the looks of the new HD's. Right now he has an 03 d-max with about 170k on it, and he can pull around 24 -25 mpg highway which is all he drives. Now, we know that part of that is due to having 170K miles, because the motor is so well broke in. He is just wondering what he can get with a new LMM. He is worried that all the new emissions crap will take down some of his milage. Odd's are that if he gets a new one and the fuel milage is worse, he will get a full exhaust, CAI, and chip to try to get the milage back. I was just wondering what you guys with LMM's are getting on the highway?

24-25 MPG? d**n!!! :shakehead:

I've seen about 18 with my LMM. That was a trip that consisted of about 90% highway. I get about 16-17 with a mix of country road and highway driving. These numbers will probably incresae with more miles. I only have 900 miles on the odometer now.

Yeah, I think it has something to do with the fact that he has 170K on his truck and a hypertech programmer. If he buys a new one, he will definetly be going the exhaust and intake route to re-gain some of the milage that is lost from all the new emissions crap.. He drives at least 2 hours everyday, so he just wants the good milage. I have suggested many times for him to buy a little Jetta TDI that gets 47mpg, and a new truck, so he can keep the miles off of it, but he refuses to because he absolutely dispises cars...
