Traded Her In

Well I decided to bite the bullet and traded in my '06 extended cab Z71 for an '07 Crew Cab Z71. The new truck is awesome! GM really put a lot of attention to this truck. I opted for the LT2 package because I couldn't justify $5,000 extra for a LTZ. The thing that really sucked was the $16,000 in value lost by my 2006 truck in a year's time - YUK! The lunch gang at work used to say "get a crew cab" because they didn't like getting in "suicide" doors. Well now they are happy too. Chevy :driving: Rocks!

I believe it. I bought my fully loaded 2005 Grand Prix GMC, the most expensive one you could get, in 2005. It was stickered at $44,000 Canadian so I thought I was getting a killer deal when I argued them all the way down to $32,000. That was until I traded it in a year later on my truck and "extra clean" book value was $18,000. That's only a year and 10,000 km later. They gave me $25,000 for it after lots of conmplaining, but still... ugh. Nothing depreciates like cars!

you took a bigger hit because the demand for the NBS is higher, if you sell your NBS next year to get an 08 they would not nail you quite as hard, but you know those dealers will try to low ball ya every time.

That would be the reason why you would sell your truck yourself. You could have taken a much lower loss.

It's been tempting to trade in my '06 Yukon Denali for the NBS. I bought the Denali "used" with 6k, so I wouldn't get hit as hard on a trade if it were bought new. But right now I plan on waiting a bit until they at least offer the 6sp auto (like all the other trucks have) and hopefully get rid of that darn wind/road noise. That stuff really annoys me. If I'm going to throw down another $40k, it better be PERFECT. :driving:

You do realize the NBS Denali's do have the 6 spd right?

Oh, and if you want "PERFECT", maybe you should consider the Blundra Crudemax??? Just ask the Toyoyo Fanboys, they will tell you it's perfect.

As long as you're aware that the NBS Yukon Denali is around $50k + $5k with the options I'd want. I only paid $40k for my fully loaded '06 Yukon Denali, used.

Should have clarified it, but I was actually refering to the current Silverado/Sierra, which is what I'd be looking at. Or perhaps even the Avalanche. I don't care for the current Yukon Denali and probably wouldn't purchase one even when the used ones do start to show up down the road.

Oh, and screw Toyota. I have faith GM can get it all right, the NBS is almost there.

How about the Sierra Denali? They run between 39K-43K. They have the 6.2l 6spd.

I agree with you about the NBS Yukons...FUGLY front end, Tahoe is much nicer looking.

I'd love to get a Sierra Denali if I could find one fully loaded @ $40k... prob have to be used though. The GMC dealer here said they had one on the lot last month, lasted 24hrs, and it was gone. Black, tan interior, mostly loaded, went for nearly $50k!

But I've gotta have my sat nav/sun roof/20's. Unfortunately, that adds quite a premium.

We'll see how things look in the next year or 2. :driving:

To answer: How much of a loss did you take?

My actual loss was about $10,000 from actual purchase price due to great rebates when I purchased it. The current 2,500 rebate took care of any difference in what I owed and what they gave me.
