Dvd Flip Up Pioneer Parking Brake Bypass

Hi, i have a Pioneer AVH-P5700DVD Flip Up... i have heard people talking about they bypassed the parking brake interlock system... which means basically.. if the parking brake is not engaged... the DVD/NAV/TV wont play. I would really like to have the DVD viewing for others in the truck while we are cruisin.. plz let me know ur thoughts... thx.

First off...its illegal to have the screen on while driving.

 

But all you do is locate the wires that hook to the parking brake, should be laid out in the wiring diagram for the stereo, and place a switch between both wires. Just go to any car audio place and have a close look at their display wall and you'll see this is what they have done.

My girlfriend installed one of these in her Celica around Febuary, and the local stereo installation shop installed the switch without us asking. However he did do that because we are really good friends. But if you want to view it while driving make sure you have that switch.

I had an older Pioneer flip out monitor. I just grounded the wire that is supposed to goto the parking brake and it would play while driving.
