High Idle

Hey fellas,

 

94 RCSB 4.3L. When I start the truck I notice that it idles for a second than jumps up pretty high. High as in like 1500 rpms. When I shift the truck into Drive or Reverse it seems to return to its normal engine speed.

 

215,000 miles. Any suggestions?

Throttle Position Sensor or Idle Air Control Valve would be my first gueses. I had a similar problem and I do not remember which caused the problem, but one of them did.

I also noticed my Check Engine Light comes on when it starts to rev high as well. As far as the Idle Air Control Valve..where is it located on the engine? Is this an expensive part?
