Mirror-like Shine

Just finished applying Meguiar's G-12718 NXT Generation Tech Wax - got it here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002UQAT...9048530-2735009

Amazing shine so deep that it looks 3-D. Incredible reflections that are like a mirror.

Have you ever used Turtle ICE? I'd like to see how this stuff compares. I really like Turtle ICE full synthetic but this stuff looks even better and cheaper too!

I get this feeling that the new technology in car polishes are all pretty good. Never tried Turtle ICE. The stuff I used is really incredible.

Looks good but remember the key to proper vehicle care is the prep. There's a lot of products out there that will hide the imperfections and do it well, but there is a HUGE difference in a vehicle that has been prepped properly and one that hasn't. If you take care of the imperfections first maintaining it is much easier! A porter cable can be your best friend!!

Yeah dude..I like that stuff...pretty easy to work with too. The paste is a little harder, but the liquid is like silk man.

The ICE is good too, but I find it a little harder to completely remove all the residue. And its almost oily so it gives off weird reflections if you don't get it all off.

Thanks for the tip on ICE, a previous post said it has lots of silicon and that would make it streaky. Also wonder what the silicon will do to plastic and rubber if you are sloppy like me and get it on those parts.

Your truck looks really good in the pic. Is that Meguires?

ICE doesn't have any more silicon that any of the other synthetics out there. How do you think sythetics work? They use silicon instead of carnuba. ICE works wonders on plastics and rubber. It is the best stuff I have ever used on black plastic. You can use it in place of dressing on everything except your tires. It will make the plastic look ultra black and resisit all water for about 6-10 months depending on vehicle useage. No dressing can do that.

Ice is awesome for the plastics man....stops them from lookin chalky. And you don't have to worry about being sloppy just for that reason alone.

The Pic in my sig was the day I brought the truck home, it still has the dealer plate on it. It just came back from detailing that morning and I walked in and looked at it shortly after. The engine was still warm. Only prob was the over spatter. every crack and crevice was chalked full of white paste. But I have since remedied that situation, after countless hours with soft tooth brush and a spray bottle of soap and water.

I am going to get a bottle of ICE again soon, just for the plastics. I want the Chrome strips for the doors like the Sierras have But I want a house too...so they can wait for a while. So I'll make the ones I have look as good as possible until I get the new ones.

You got the fun part...but the way I jump into things...by the time I'm done it could be more expensive than a house...LOL

And polishes and waxes...LOL between me and my buddy last year we spent almost 1500 bucks...and we didnt even scratch the surface on the stuff you can try...There is a lot of stuff out there.

Zaino and Adams Super Wax contain NO silicone!! Adams is actually a synthetic/carnuba blend. All synthetics DO NOT contain silicone. Zaino is a full synthetic polymer and has NO silicone. As a result it can be layered - you cannot layer a silicone product because they generally also contain solvents which remove the previous coat so all you will ever have is a single coat. Regardless proper prep is the key - take care of the problems first don't just cover then up. A properly prepped vehicle will look much better than one that has covered up the imperfections.
