Wheels Seem To Be Bubbling?

Recommended Posts

06 1500 CC with the stock 17" (see sig)

My wheels seem to be bubbling near the edges of where the "polished" and "unpolished" meet. I tried to buff out, but it actually seems to be coming from underneath the finish. I will see if I can load a picture (not real good at that yet)

Any one else run into this?

Thanks

I see it all day at the shop! Not normally on 1-2 year old vehicles tho!! Most of the time it forms due to poor care and lack of regular cleaning. Salt will cause this problem too.

Is your truck under any warranty? If so bring it in and have them replace the wheels.

My 04 SBEC has this exact condition along only one edge of the spoke.

I noticed it last year and my truck is is extremely well taken care of.

I wash regularly in the winter but it seems like the edges of the spokes are prone to this.

Yup, what you all have there is a case of good old corrosion. Not a lot that can be done to help either. Just hope that it is covered under the warranty.

I also see this all day at work (chevy dealership). We usually ship them to Transwheel corp. in Indiana but these are all covered under warranty so I'm sure of the cost if it's not covered.
