Brand New 07 Sierra Bumper Alignment

I am supposed to pick up my new 07 Sierra Monday. Dealer is closed today but it was transferred in yesterday from another dealer. So I was in looking at it today.

 

The front bumper and trim panel are not aligned properly. I am wondering if it possible there has been damage done during transit, maybe the other dealer fixed it up. You can see in this picture, the drivers side gap between the chrome bumper and upper trim panel is not the same on both side and also appears to be wider in the middle.

 

 

 

Also there is wax residue all over the vehicle, on the paint, trim, plastic, like they had some kid give it a wax job at some point but it must have been a while ago because the vehicle didn't come in all shiny and clean and the dirt on it looks more like it has been there for a while. Sure doesn't give me that nice new vehicle feel.

 

So thoughts on the bumper and wax resdue?

I would make sure the dealer adjusts things so the bumber is even. My '07 GMC Sierra's front bumber is even all across. So the one you have pictured is not normal. The waxy surface should also be removed. Don't have a clue what it could be, other than maybe fallout of some kind, or perhaps they spray some stuff on the vehicles prior to shipment to give them some protection, and that just has not been cleaned off yet. Hard to say. Either way, do not accept the truck unless you are satsified.
