Well, I'm sitting here looking at the first snow of the season worth mentioning in Kansas City, MO....4.5" measured at my house in Independence (just east of KC) - and it's STILL snowing at a pretty good clip...and the forecast was only for 1"-2". Ironic thing is I thought I had jinxed myself for the rest of the winter....just traded in my '01 2WD Ext. Cab in for a '02 Z71 Ext. Cab this past Wednesday, the 16th (Couldn't pass up the $2002 rebate). Didn't expect it to get such a workout so soon:D  Just thought I'd share.

We got about 3" here in Salina.  It was done snowing when I left the bar at about 12, so thats probably all we will get.  Its more then we have had all winter though, so I can't complain.

Still waiting for the first inch.  A buddy and I have a case of beer bet on when the first two inch snowfall will happen this year.  I'm saying before Feb. 15, he says before Feb. 6.

The in laws are due south of KC, MO in Joplin.  They've been getting a little..  Called earlier all excited.  Their first of the season.  Could use a little here in WYO, its just been clear and brutally cold for weeks-

This year has been a far cry from last season....it started snowing in mid-November and we got a storm about every 3 days all the way through Christmas...now that was fun!! I think alot of the nation has had a "snow drought" this year...but there is a couple good months of winter left...for those that haven't picked any up yet....look out, you could end up with snow through Memorial Day :) (now that would be cool!!)

Robert, I got about 2-2.5 inchs at my place. Check the picture forum and you can see all we got here. Im in South KC, about a mile west from the Granview triangle. Have went outside to "play" in it yet. But, I dont care for snow all that much.

Madfish,

Hard to believe how much difference just a few miles can make....I live in Independence (on the East side of town, about 2 miles north of the 291 Hwy/I-70 interchange) and we have this morning.....Drum Roll.........5.5"!!!!! It is so awesome to look at...but with temps forecast in the upper 40's to maybe 50 the next couple days, I don't think it will be around long...oh well, maybe there's more where it came from :)

Robert, I measured it when I cleaned the truck off. 4 3/4 inch is what I had on the hood.

Hey, I guess a few people are going to meet up at my place tomorrow around 3pm. I got to get ahold of 96vortec(Jeff) and Silveradoman(Mike) to see if they are up for it. There are some people from a Camaro board, I go to, in town. Your welcome to stop by and join the crowd if you want. I guess they want to see my car and then we might go to a bowling alley and shot pool or do something. Theres probably going to be about 7 or 8 of us. A few from the Camaro board and a few from here. Email me and I'll give you my # if you want to meet up with us.

I'm kind of waiting for this snow to melt off now.  It wasn't near enough to go out and find some 4 wheeling to do, so that sucks.  But when it melts off, I'm hoping it gets some of the no maintanence roads sloppy so I can go out and really try out the mud tires.   :)

I had about 5.5 inches where i live about 10 mins from madfish.

Madfish

Ill be back in town tommorrow around 3:30 or so.  So just leave me a voice mail so that I know that its still on.

I might go out and do a little four wheeling tonight since im out in the country now :)

Paul....4 3/4" - not bad, considering the weather predictions before the storm started...I think they missed it! Thanks for the invite...sounds like it might be fun :P  However, I have plans for tomorrow afternoon already made....I'll have to take a "SNOW" check!!! LOL

Kansas Kid...sorry to hear ya didn't get enough to really have a blast in, but hope you give those tires the workout they deserve :)  Be careful out there, by the way.

Silverado Man....what part of the metro are you in? Have fun if you go out 4-wheeling tonight (be careful as well). Unfortunately, I have to work (I'm a firefighter) until 8AM tomorrow morning (Sunday)...so I did all my playing last night while it was still snowing :D

Everyone take care and enjoy what's left of the weekend!!
