Single Cd To 6 Disk?

I have the factory single CD player with XM/Onstar and want to sawp it out for the GM factory 6 disk. Will this be an easy plug-and-play swap? Will the connections in the rear match up and everything work?

Why not just get an Ipod/MP3 player interface kit? Just curious.

I can't speak for him, but for me I wouldn't want an interface kit B/C I don't like Apple, and wouldn't buy an iPod. And for other Mp3 players interface kits where i won't have to use the Mp3 player itself are few and far between. I don't want a 6 CD changer either because of the fact that when loading CDs you have to go through this long drawn out session where as I'd rather hit the eject button, and load another CD. I do buy a lot of CDs and my preferences of what I want to listen to vary from day to day, so I don't want to load several CDs only to have to take them out tomorrow. I prefer leaving the store and changing CDs while I am leaving the parking lot, and in my experience, using an in dash CD player takes too long. Now a trunk mounted one where I still have the one in my dash is one I’m willing to go for but I don’t want to have to wait while my CD player is trying to figure out what slot is empty and spin it around for me to put a CD in. Sorry for being so long winded.

My 2007 GMC has the audio input plug on the radio face which works fine for both the iPods and the iPhone. You don't need an interface kit. You cannot, however, track the iPod or iPhone with the radio controls, but that's not a big deal. If your truck has the seat/console, you can charge your iPod/iPhone safely out of sight. My truck came with the 6-disc changer and I highly recommend it. Put in 1 or up to six discs, the wait to load is negligible. Burn a disc of your iTunes MP3s and the changer will play them and the radio will control the playlist without a need for an iPod. Very pleasantly surprised and pleased by the sound and operation.

That is what I'm saying, if I am going to use a regular plug I'm not going to spend an extra $50 just because I'm paying for a NAME. I'm not trying to belittle the Apple name, I have used it and I will admit I kind of like it, but I have a 4GB Creative Mp3 player for the same price of the 2GB iPod. Now if I planned on using an INTERFACE kit I would buy an Ipod because you can actually control it using the radio. I don't see the point in using a $150 connection when buying blank CDs is cheaper. I know that eventually they will pay for themselves but I buy 100 CDs for 15-20 dollars, and I can also bring them to another vehicle. For some people that option will work, but for me, it just isn't plausable. And I'm not trying to get into an argument, but I do want to present all sides of the argument so that you can make an informed decision.

If you get another OEM radio it should do all of that. If you go aftermarket you will have to buy other pieces to make it work. This is something i am 99% sure of.
