Change Engine Oil Light.

Today I put cut out the stock muffler and put in a cherry bomb glasspack, and it sounds great, and now I hammer it every chance I get just to hear it roar. Anyway I was coming home from town and I turned the corner and romped on it and pretty soon the change engine oil light comes on for about 5 seconds and then went away, and now it comes on when i start it too. The thing is, I just changed oil less than 300 miles ago.

Is this some thing I should be concerned about?

When you changed the oil did you reset engine oil life system

turn your ignition to run, with the engine OFF. Press and release the accelerator 3 times within 5 seconds. If change engine oil flashes for 5 seconds, its reset.

No i didnt reset it, and you guys are makin me feel like an idiot with those simple answers!

The only thing that had me confused was how it only stayed on for about 5 seconds. I thought that it would stay on the whole time.

That is normal, it only stays on for a few seconds each time you start it and when it initially comes on.
