It was one of those happy /sad occasions, saying goodbye to my 02 Denali and saying hello to my new 07 Sierra 4x4 1500 ex cab.I will say I was impressed with the ride, and handling. The fit and finish were excellent, and there were no "bare spots" of paintless metal. The 5.3 motor was smooth and responsive. But I was horrified to find out that the truck did not have the DIC.I thought all trucks except the W/T had the DIC.When I hit the gas pump I will render my final verdict. Stay tuned.

Congratulations on the new tuck.

It is funny though how you can get attached to a vehicle, and although you have a shiny new one there in front of you it is still hard to see the old one go.

congrats on the new truck. We've filled ours up once. It was mixed highway and city. Mostly city which is 15-25mph speed limits. The wife averaged around 12.5mpg. I also want the DIC upgrade. Even though we go mostly city and the Cylinder Deactivation won't kick in, I'd like to see when it does on the freeway for some reason.

mine only kicks on when I let off the gas, if I put it in cruise control it will never go into 4 cyl mode unless I'm going under 50 and it is completely flat land....only time it seems to kick in for me is when I completely let off the gas........I'm only averaging 13.1 mpg
