Is There A Recall For This?

a good friend of mine at the shop has an '04 Rado ext cab with color matched side mouldings, (light metallic blue) and on both sides, there is what looks like a huge wart developing under the moulding, it's as if GM applied the mouldings and left a square washer under there..........we know that's not the case, but nevertheless, it's getting ugly.

i've seen this same thing on a few other trucks like his as well.

 

i told David i'd ask, so does anyone know if GM has or had a recall to fix this?

There is not a recall on this ..............Just a TSB.

My buds 04 as well as my 04 both had the bumps in the side mouldings

and they were replaced under warranty by the dealer.

 

The cause of this is from them not removing the part # stickers from

the back of the moulding and applying the adhesive strip over them.

Then the labels release off the moulding along with the adhesive

strips causing the bumps.

 

Call your dealer. If your past the factory warranty period they may

still replace them for free.........................

I noticed this on my 04 HD, but decided to leave them as is. Dealership in my old town wasn't very good at things like this...and my purchase dealer was a long way away. I've just lived with it.

and the service invoices went with them.......................

my NBS actually has some marks on the side moldings...I got some mud on them and washed if off a day later...it almost seems as if the mud pitted them....anyone else have this problem?????

my chrome ones have lumps all over them. was going to go back to the dealer.
