My Truck Is Surging.

Hey guys,

 

My truck is surging between 40-45 mph. Around 1000 RPM. I'll get up to about 40, going up an incline, and the engine starts to rev. Tach goes up from about 1000 to 1400 and back down and does it several times until I press the gas hard enough to get it to about 45, 50.

 

It started this after I got my custom exhaust. I took it to the exhaust shop and they didn't have a clue. They said they've never seen anything like this. I also have a wait4me tune. Think it needs to be updated?

I dont know how much this will help but our 05' Duramax started surging at around 10 mph, so we took it in to the dealer and they reflashed the computer and that stopped it, so I would guess it would have somthing to do with your computer and not so much the exhaust.

Hey, at this point anything helps! Thanks for your input...I'm planning on calling Jesse Monday and will email him tonight about it. I emailed him before about this and he said he'd never heard of it. So maybe i'll just do a retune. Can PCMs get corrupted somehow?

OK, I've pretty much confirmed it is the tune. I put in my stock one and went and tested it out. I couldn't reproduce it at all. It almost seemed more powerful. Now it has me wondering if, despite my warnings, my dealer may have flashed my PCM. Hmm...

 

Well either way, I'm returning it to get it retuned for more performance and such.
