You can do anything you want if you throw enough time and money at it.

What you're talking about though, isn't really a plug and play sort of deal.

is the issue more that you need a new drivetrain for it and you might aswell go new or do you just feel like doing it. if you need a new tranny and motor in your truck i would just get a crate motor or something like it with a rebuilt or new tranny i wouldnt want to spend the time and i dont really think it would be worth it. but like wing said anything can be done its just how much prep youll have to do to the new stuff (I.E. making it a basic motor again with no wiring and stuff like that) that you will have to do. if it were me i would drop a 502 in it and call it a day that would be sweet. :):D:cheers:

Why only a 502, go for the 572... mother of all crate motors

hahaha good one but idk i think the 572 would get to bad of MPG hahahahhahaha :) the 502 would be superior in MPG of course hahaha. wht would that get anyway like 4 city 6 highway :D

well the truck is going to need a motor soon its a bit of a dog, and i only have a 3 spd tranny in it now and it sucks when driving highway. so i was just throwing the idea out there but i guess like it was said it would be easier to get a crate motor and a rebuilt tranny and go from there.

thanks for the info

There are a lot of modules that will eliminate the need for the factory computer on the truck, the swap can be made, but I would (and have) spend my money on rebuilding the motor and adding hp to it. It would not be hard to add a 4l60e to get the lock-up and 4 speed od. there is a module that is avaiable to allow the 4l60e to work on a non computer engine.

Thats pretty big, but I saw something on the cover of the newest issue of hotrod, something like an 840 c.i. big block chevy!!!

But I cant find the magazine so I cant tell you anymore.

EDIT: I found the magazine and it's a 870ci motor that is based on a big block chevy but it is so big that the block and heads are custom made and it make 2500 hp, with the help of some nitrous.
