Ebay Nerf Bars

Hey all, I am finally a Silverado owner!!! As of last Tues. I am the proud new owner of an '04 Ext. Cab Silverado as you can see in my pic to the left. Of course I have to start the mods and was going to order these nerf bars on ebay, but wondered if anyone has or know of anyone who has ordered these. They seem to be a good price, but I am not going to sacrifice quality. Thanks in advance, love the site and the wealth of info you guys have to offer!

congrats and welcome!! well heres my .02, a couple weeks back on my birthday i was set on buying some nerf bars and a grill guard, well i went into autozone, and pepboys, and they both carry westin products... they wanted 500$ for nerf bars for an extended cab truck, and 599 for a grill guard, i decided to say screw that and i went online, bought my nerf bars here here and i got my grill guard here : here

the quality meets and surpasses the westin's quality, if they come with a lifetime warrenty go for it! you won't be dissapointed i have some pics of mine on another topic http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67100

when i went into a custom shop bye my house, i was told bye the guy that these bars are basically all the same they just have somebody else's logo on the step pad!! good luck with your purchase

I've bought from ebay before, so hopefully these will be just as good if not better than previous purchases. I just bought them, so we'll see when they get here and i install them!

I bought what appears to be the same bars from ebay a year ago, they are still looking great and seem really sturdy, they don't move when I step on them. So far so good!!

I bought almost the same kind pictures in that link in the first post off eBay for my Grandfather's 2000 Ranger XLT Off Road. Put them on last year in the spring and so far the steel mounts havent even rusted yet. Of course, he only has 22,000 on it so it doesnt get driven that much. So far so good though.

I have the same bars on my 2007.. Paid the same price for them too. Nice bars for the money. Being that they are stainless, I expect them to last the life of the truck.

I just have to add my .02 on this... I just got some GM accessories OEM style nerf bars for my ext. cab from ebay. took quite a risk being as how these were soo cheap and the seller didn't have anything on return/exchange posted. here they are:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...327423&rd=1

couldn't be happier with them. put them on last week and seems to make quite a difference in apperance of the truck

IMO the 1500 series, ext. cab and cc, looks much cleaner with the OEM style steps. from a distance, the elongated step sort of looks like the dark part on the top of the tube where the chrome isn't reflecting any light, blends in really well. Not knocking the 2-step bars at all, I had initially intended on getting some Westin's sometime in the future, but when I saw this offer I couldn't pass it up.

I could post pics if anyone is interested, i took some before and afters but im at work right now..

Thanks for the insight, they havent arrived yet, but hopefully i'll have them on this weekend. I wouldn't mind seeing pics. I debated on the one long step/two step bars. I preferred the two step, and with the price... I didn't see these though. Do they have the Gm logo on them? The ones I got do not have a logo, which hopefully reflects in the price, not the quality.

Sure, got some picutures right here:

And a close-up:

As you can see these ones don't have the GM logo on them.

And I should also mention that I got a good price on them. The link I gave shows you can 'but it now' for 179. I noticed you could bid as well, and I think it started at 119. Since the reserve is usually so close to buy it now, I opted to send an email to the seller. I asked him if he would drop the shipping charges to $20 if I used Buy It Now. He agreed, and I got them delivered to my door (actually my front yard because I was outside and put them on immediately) for $200. I think they ask $400-500 from the dealer.

Sorry for cluttering up the thread with images, buy maybe they will help someone else with they're decision.

I bought a similar guard as the one you got. Do you notice it vibrating when you drive down the road? Mine was so bad that it irritated me to the point of just taking it off. I couldn't stand to watch it bounce up and down almost constantly. The mounting seemed real sturdy and you couldn't move it by hand but go down any road with a pot hole and watch it jiggle.

I just bought a bull bar. It might jiggle too but at least I don't have to watch it!
