Gang, I have a '05 ecsb silvy 2WD, that has been a great truck so far. Now, with 34k miles, and warranty running thin, I'm hearing a slight gurgly type whine when I turn the wheels..mostly to the left, sometimes right. Is this normal? It's not real loud at all, very faint right now.

my trailblazer whines like crazy... i'm not sure if that's why i have a power steering problem now or not

Whinning in A Hydraulic systeem , usuly means A lack of fluid flow ,

this should be fixed under hidden recalls.

I have a 05 Silverado and have had a couple different power steering problems/noises. I had a high pitch whining noise at one point, generally at low rpms (riding through parking lots and such) which resulted in the power steering pump being replaced. Wasn't broken, but had a front gasket that was leaking and allowing air in.

And I had a very similar problem to what you're having about 5,000 miles ago. They replaced a steering gear and it seems to have done the trick. It was also becoming extremely hard to turn to the left, almost like having no power steering at all. Not sure if you're experiencing this however. Hope this helps, have a good weekend.

Is there anyone that knows if the 2005+ 2wd Police Pursuit Tahoe's (Tahoe PPV) Rack and Pinion PS pump has a higher volume rate over the 1500 Silverado/Sierra?

The PPV Tahoe's have Hydro-Boost braking systems, using the PS pump to assist braking pedal pressures.
