07 Sierra Fog Light Upgrade Question

Hi I noticed on some other post that you can upgrade your foglight with a little alterations with 9005 bulbs. They are 60w bulbs. On my 03 silverado the stock bulbs were a h10 or 9145 bulb. it is close to the 9005 bulb but is only a 45 watt bulb. it uses the same connector as the 9005.

 

So my question is will a bulb that has a 90degree bend work with this upgrade?

I might do this route just to be safe not to burn up my housing and to save on coming traffic from getting blind.

 

 

Also you just had to trim the bulb not the housing right?
