The cost is usually around $750 per axle, parts AND labor. It takes a lot of skill to set one up correctly and is a job best left to the pros.

What kind of shop does this kind of work?

The shops that specialize in axles and transmissions are hard to find, but do exist.

I had my previous 4X4 done at a large dealership that had a highly qualified axle tech for an out the door cost of about $1450.

I'll trade you for my 3.42's anytime. They may be highway friendly, but my truck sucks at towing. Good luck!
