I changed the oil for the first time on my 07 2500 HD 6.0 gas and have a couple of questions.

Why does the oil pan plug have no magnet?

Is there a larger oil filter to use instead of the PF48?

The oil pressure gauge shows 30 psi when hot at idle and 40 psi at around 2000 rpm. Is this normal for other 6.0 engines?

thanks

1. Yes, check Amsoil's website, or we have an amsoil dealer on here, you can send him a message.

2. Never trust gauges. They only show you something is working, just not accurate to a "T" . Maybe the gas gauge, speedo, and tach. A mechanical gauge will yeild much better results as far as oil pressure, compression, ect.

SchmidDaddy,

Thanks for the info. Any idea why the magnet has been deleted from the pan plug?

My '07 6-liter still has a magnetic plug.

Interesting. I will go to the dealer and see if I can buy a pan plug with the magnet. thanks, David
