How Do You Clean A Chamois ?

I just stick mine in a bucket of dishwashing detergent and water. Depending upon what I am using in the house to wash dishes it will change. I wash mine about once a year. I wake up early one morning, stick it in the bucket, and let it sit during the day, kind of adgitating it throughout the day. Never got streaks out, but was more worried about getting trapped dirt out than my chamois looking nice.

On another note, your truck looks nice in your sig pic. I like the bowtie.

thanks, I appreciate that

I really didn't want the hood deflector on it, but the paint is so thin that every time even the smallest rock comes within 10 feet of it, it will chip down to the primer. So I had to put one on, it has kind of grown on me though.

The black bowtie is courtesy of Krylon and a Scotchbrite pad!

I don't use chamois anymore, I use the Absorber. They get black streaks every once in a while, I just toss them in the washer with liquid detergent, then put them wet back in thier container.

I stopped using a leather Chamois year' ago.The Absorber like Gregg said is what I've been using for about 10 year's.Work's way better and alot easier to take care of.

Same here on the Absorber. I hate to admit it, but I bought mine in 1978 and I am still using it. I have not counted how many times I have used this thing but it would have to be in the thousands and it works today just like it did when I bought it. I have never washed it with soap, just warm water every now and then.

Props to the Absorber I just used mine for the first time on Saturday and was amazed on how well it works, I'll never use anything but that to dry off my trucks from now on. As for cleaning your natural chamois I just fill up a sink with hot water and pour some Tide in there with it let it soak for a while then make sure your rinse out all the soap. Even cleaners made specifically for chamois wont get the black marks but it will remove little pieces of debreis

Throw it in the trash. They trap dirt and will scratch the shiat out of your paint.

Waffle Weave MF drying towels are much better.
