Anyone Know Where To Purchase A Climate Control Unit?

Anyone know where the best place would be to buy a manual climate controler for a 2004 Silverado? Mine has a burnt out light on the drivers side and my dealer wanted $250 to replace it. That seemed a bit much.

If you're good with a soldering iron, you could replace it on your own. Not sure what type of bulb the 04's use. I replaced my 00 HVAC bulbs with LEDs. If I'm not mistaken, there were a few members on here with 2004-up trucks who replaced their HVAC bulbs with LEDs. You might want to search the forum to find out the info. I did puchase another HVAC controller from eBay when mine first blew but unfortunately several of those were blown as well so I decided to change them all with LEDs. If you just want to replace your controller, I would check eBay or maybe a Pick-n-Pull/Salvage yard. $250 is way too much for a maunal controller in my opinion.

I agree if your good with a soldering iron (or decent at least) you can just convert to LED, I used about 26 LEDS in my HVAC controller when I finally got around to doing it today...

Do you know if you can just upgrade to the control unit that has the auto temp control? Mine didn't come with it but it is a feature I miss when I sold my Trailblazer. There really isn't much difference in price.

I would think there is much more to it. Sensors etc. I doubt its plun n play

what particular unit do you need? I have a climate control unit from my 2001 tahoe that Is like brand new....

 

take a pic and show me what one you need, and I"ll see if mine is the same

the manual controller only costs $95 at gmpartsdirect. list price is double that price. see if you can get the dealer to give you the part# and then order it on gmpartsdirect. it would take about 5 min or less to replace it.
