Can I Upgrade The A/c Contol Unit To Include Atc?

I was going to buy a new control unit for my A/C and Heater because I have a burnt out light. I see the unit that has the automatic temp control is not that much more. Can I upgrade to have ATC just by buying this unit? I had this in my Trailblazer and it's a feature I really miss sometimes.

I'm not positive about your make, but I had a bad a/c heater module in my 98 van, changed it to a different, but very simular model and all hell broke loose! My rear wiper only worked in one gear, a/c wouldn't work at all, and it also made all the lights on the dash go spasmatic when I started it up! , matter of fact the only thing that worked was the heat! Also the newer module wouldn't plug directly in, they have specific slots in the plug, but I was desperate so I modified it to fit, NOT recommended!

Just a Warning: If it don't fit then your truck isn't rigged to use it, proceed at your own Risk.

The unit I want to replace it with is for the same make and model of Truck. I just didn't get it with my truck. I was just wondering if there are other parts I need to order to make this work.

The one I was replacing came off the same model year too, but the plug connection (the plastic part) was not the same, even though the wires (connectors) looked the same. A closer look at the circuit board let me know that a few things were different (some diodes).

I'm not sure if there is a kit to convert it, but from my experience it will not directly hook up and work if the plug connection is not the same.

What I would do is look at your plug connection to the unit and compare it to the one you want to install if thats possible and see if they match.

Good luck
