Hi , I have a 2005 2500H.D. .I'm trying to get power to the "aux. trailer power" terminal on the trailer plug.According to the fuse box/book stud #2 should supply the juice.Stud #1 has a "dummy" (fake) fuse in it but if I switch the two fuses I get power back at the plug in. If i get a real fuse for stud #1 and go with that will I hurt anything else? There is only one red wire going to stud #1. But the box is labled for duel batterys(don't have) or for diesel (n/A). if this is the route to take what amp fuse should I go with? Was this wired backwards at the factory? Thanks for the help.

Zac, I'm not 100% sure that wiring on the O5 HD is the same as the 07. However, if it IS the same.

Stud #1, 40 amp fuse, is the trailer auxilliary power source. (~$4 at the local auto parts store)

Stud #2, 30 amp fuse, is the power for trailer lights.

Take a peak at SinisterSS' install instructions, click here, and see if it matches up to your 05.

There shouldn't be any problem having both circuits powered at the same time. (I'm planning on having both of mine powered on my 07 1500, since that's what the GM instructions say to do)

It is labeled dual battery and that circuit is connected at the factory, if my information is correct, as part of the "camper" wiring package (which includes an auxilliary battery).
