Lumbar Not Working

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a 2001, GMC, sierrra, 5.3 , extended cab, with CLOTH seats, powers seats.

The drivers seat has a knob , for the lumbar, when i turn it it does nuthing, the passengers side works just fine.........

any ideas why it doesnt do anything when i turn the know? I'm assuming it is cable operated and maybe the cable snapped or came disconnected? Is it hard to fix? Easy to get to?

you can try to look under there, the cable hooks into the knob, and might have come out or snapped. The knob pulls of really hard. Then take out the screws to the shield piece on the side (levers too). there are 2 13mm nuts that hold the front of the seat cuhion in/down, pull those out and the seat cushion will slide forward/up and out. Then you will have access to the knob lever cable area to further inspect.

Most likely the cable snapped, does it feel like it has no support. Mine broke in my S10 I heard it snap and there was no support any more and the knob just spun. You should be able to order a new one it's kind of a pain to replace.
