No Shift

I have a 97 k1500 with a check engine and check guages lights on. No tack or speedo. It also does not want to shift unless done manually. But even then all the gears are not present. Sometimes the speedo works, but it's way off or it slowly drops to zero. I did scan it and go some trans codes. Don't remember which ones though. Please help.

Sounds like an ignition switch to me. My truck did that when the switch went out and it did not shift and pulled all kinds of codes for the trans. Being that your gauges don't work is a no-brainer to me because when my switch went out ALL of my gauges went dead. That is what I am willing to bet on in your case. Costs around $300 installed from your dealer and they will clear the codes for you and you are good to go.

your truck is in "limp home mode" 2nd and thrid gears only by manual shift cause by lack of power to xmission. all those code set, each represents the shift solenoid tcc pwm sol. etc... "IGN 0" left of dash not under hood. fuse powers xmission and maybe gauges, chek it first, switch makes sense in that respect....

Everyone is giving pretty good advice, helmotech being the closest. These codes being set togeather indicate a loss of voltage to the transmission. If you have a 4L80E or 4L85E the trans will default to second gear, if you have a 4L60E or 4L65E it will default to third gear. The best place in my opinion to start is with diagnosis not just throwing a switch at it, that is kind of expensive. I would start by checking for voltage with the key in run at the trans fuse in the underhood fuse block. If you do not have voltage there then start chasing back to the switch but I wouldn't just throw one at it.

I see you said you are at a ford dealer. If you are a tech I would suggest joining iATN http://www.iatn.net/ there are techs from all manufacturers and aftermarket that help with diag all day and alot of them are very good. There is a free option that is a little limited but you can ask and answer questions or there is a $25 a month membership that has full search and lots of useful diagnostic strategy info updated constantly.
