Onstar Not Working, Round 2.

So this morning I dropped off my new 07 at the local GMC dealership to have them address the OnStar never working issue. a few hours later they call and say they have re-programmed it and its up and working. Shuttle picks me up, I drive back to work (5 min away) get done with work for the day and go out to the truck drive off to Taco Hell to pick up some lunch, press the blue button, get the silly fanfare then "Connecting to OnStar" and all it does is beep beep beep. Same d**n thing. I call the dealership up again, they say bring it back in tomorrow. So I say ok. Go back to work, come back out to the truck at the end of the day, let it warm up, press the blue button again just for the hell of it, Fanfare, then Beep Beep Beep then Ring. "Thank you for calling OnStar, how may I help you Mr. Ryan?" My eyes bulge out of my head and I almost choke on my drink. "Hi there! I'm just calling in for my introductory call." "Well welcome Mr. Ryan! We are very pleased to have you as a customer! Allow me to take some time to introduce you to OnStar... blah blah blah" So I put it into gear, thinking "Sweet! Its working now!" start driving home and then about 3 min away, it does a Digital Pixialization noize and sticks on the same sylibal. I wait a min, keeps doing it, so I press the button to hang up. The lady tries calling me back, I press the black button to answer, and it does nothing. She tries again, black button, nothing. I press the blue button again, and then Fanfare, then "Connecting to Onstar" and then beep beep beep beep and no connection. What the HELL!? Wonder if there is a loose connection for the antenna or something. There IS coverage in the area I am in. So it goes back to the dealer tomorrow for round 2. Needless to say I am going to take advantage of the free service car wash this time!!!!

**Correction** this will be Round 3 for tomorrow. Round 1 was at the original GMC dealership I purchased it from, they stated they fixed a loose wire behind the mirror. It never worked. They wanted me to bring it in on a M-F but seeing how work is about 20 miles away, and the shuttle does not go that far, that aint going to happen.

when my dad owned the truck im in now the onstar never worked correctly. I took it to the dealership from where he bought it (30 minutes away!) and they tried to call onstar...nothing happend...pushed that red button on the mirror that indicates you have a problem...nothing...5 minutes go by and I start to hear sirens...i look at the guy helping me and he keeps messing with the mirrior...right as we got out of the truck the 2 police cars came into the dealership right to my truck  woops...i pointed to the guy helping me and come to find out the buttons did not work except for the emergency button. long story short(too late i know) I could care less if onstar works in my truck...after that trip to the dealer neither myself or my dad has tried it.

use ur cell phone.... I have onstar, I don't use it. It's fluff.....How many more "gadgets " do we need. My truck is for getting back and fourth between two points. Onstar never recoverd my buddies stolen truck, the cops said the thieves just throw a reflective blanket over the vehicle and it blocks onstar services, it's all RF so yeah that trick works. Try it out by putting a piece of aluminum foil over your shark fin. Or be like the moron down at the car wash who took my shark fin off with his brush, onstar didnt work then either. So i guess i'm saying to all you thieves, if you wanna steal a car with onstar just break off the shark fin. Did i mention the time that when i had a rental car, i used onstar to try and help me get the rental back to the rental agency after it broke down? Alls they could tell me that there was a malfunction in the engine, NO CRAP!!! thats why there is white smoke comming from it....... ONSTAR, "On your own"

Update:

Took truck in this morning, they were very apologetic about not having it fixed yesterday. Called around 4:00 and told me the Tech had spent several hours on the phone with GM trying to figure out what was going on. Apparently it is programmed on a Sprint PCS system and should be on Verizon. Apparently the OnStar module is not accepting the programming information they put into it so GM will be sending a update of sorts overnight. I will be taking it back in Thursday for them to finish up on it.
