Intermediate Sterring Shaft Again!

This is the 4th time my silverado has been in for the steering shaft. This time it was the worse..........clunking and sounding as if the front end was coming undone. Funny thing is I looked at the new shaft and it was smooth in its operation. I got the bad one and again it was pretty smooth too and still had grease................scratch my head...............I can't figure why the old shaft caused so much noise!!!

I have posted the same thing awhile back, someone recommended a Doorman I-Shaft OEM replacement, according to them, it is better than OEM, here is the original thread:

I posted the info on the new Dorman piece and although I cannot compare it to GM's latest design, I have had my hands on the new Dorman piece and from an appearance perspective, it is a great looking piece. They have redesigned the entire unit and it is almost like compressing a shock.

 

I have not used one yet because mine in my Yuk XL is not making any noise right now. If (when) the noise rtns, I will be installing one to see how it does.
