Vinyl Seat In Tahoe

Does anyone know if they made vinyl seats for a tahoe 00-06. Reason I am asking is I purchased a 3rd seat for my Tahoe on ebay and it stated leather however when I recieved it looked plastic. Took to local shop and they say plastic as well. However the seller says they "never" made vinyl seats for a Tahoe or Yukon. I am pretty sure they are vinyl and in one of the years models atleast I bet they made a work model and they almost always have vinyl seats. Thanks just trying to get the facts before I proceed.

I think only the first and second row get leather seating surface only seats. The third row seats have never been real leather. I think they call it simulated leather, but all that means is nice looking vynl.

It is considered the one of the 'leather' seats, but as stated it wasn't actually real leather. The seller is right that the seat was a part of the leather seat package, but it is not and none of them (3rd row) are genuine leather.

3rd row was never leather. GM used/uses at little low quality leather as possible in 'full leather' vehicles. The 3rd seat is 100% vinyl.

I've never had GM leather because it is of such poor quality. I'd be happier if they'd just put vinyl on the seats and call it what it is. It'd be a heck of a lot cheaper and more practical (takes abuse better and easier to clean). Heck again: they could even inject it with that same leather smell that they have to inject the "leather" with anyway, since that's about the only advantage GM leather has over vinyl.

As it is now, aren't just the seating surfaces leather even on the front two rows? I'd prefer my dogs & kids ... & friends (ha) sit on vinly anyway.

Ok thanks guess I will have to be mad at GM not seller still not happy he put leather in discription but thats EBAY for ya. I am not happy with GM leather either more vinyl than leather in my Tahoe at least they could have put leather on the headrest and not just the front of the seats. Thanks again.

I've had 3 Sierra SLT Z71's with leather plus a Tahoe LT and not had a problem with any of them. The rear seats were vinyl I assume as it would be common to throw cargo on the back seat. Vinyl would be easier to clean.

Don't be too mad at him,He probably thought it was leather and didn't realize it wasn't.

And yea,GM's leather sucks!!!

There is not really any major problems with it. I think everyone is just saying its a poor grade or poor quality. I agree it is a poor grade of leather, Feel the seats in a King Ranch and then an old body style GM truck, you will see the difference , but I would still preffer even poor qualtiy leather over the cloth GM uses any day.
