Buick Lacrosse Steering Noise ?

I have a 2007 Buick Allure, which is called the LaCrosse in the U.S. It's a fine car with the exception of one problem , which is driving me nuts. After it warms up in the winter, or all the time during the summer, when I turn the steering wheel, I hear a whistling kind of noise that seems to come directly from the steering wheel.

Two different Buick dealerships have torn apart the steering and replaced everything from the bearing in the steering to seals. It still does it. I've got about 16,000 kilometers on ti, which figures out to about 10-11, 000 miles or so.

I'm wondering if it's something under the steering wheel, , where it connects to the steering column, ike excess plastic or something that when it's warm in the interior rubs against something and makes the whistling sound ?

I don't know. Any ideas would be a great help. Thanks.

Am experiencing the same "squeek" in my 2007 Buick.. GM dealer wants $ 700 to repair....He mentions the seal in the steering column. Is there a less costly way to repair?
