Question About Afm

I've been thinking for a while and I figured this was the place to turn. When the 5.3L engine drops to 4 cyl. mode does it use the same cylinders everytime or does it alternate between what cylinders it uses? I am wondering this becuase if you drive in 4 cyl. mode for an extended period of time ( i.e. highway rides) aren't you slowly wearing down only half of the engine?

Yes its the same cylinders.

 

*As for the wear, No all cylinders are are moving just the valves have been disabled.*
