Subwoofer Setups In A Regular Cab

Hey can yall post some setups of sub's in the 2006 and similar years regular cabs? I want to put a single pioneer 12" sub behind the center console, but I dont know if there is enough room when you flip the center seat up.

Thanks,

Andrew

In my '01 reg cab, I've got a couple of 10's, one behind each seat. The amp is under the passenger seat...I've still got enough room back there to drop my backpack behind the center seat too. Nice little "hole" for me to drop stuff in, then flip up the center seat so my crap can't be seen.

I've also installed the same setup in an '05 reg cab, so I know it'll work in yours too.

I've never done a 12 incher behind the center console, but I'm pretty sure that you'd be able to make it fit.

How much room did you loose? I am of the "RHINO" club and need my seat almost all the way back. As it is now I am looking for a couple of 8"s with very small sealed enclosure volume to do something with. I have some 8" pipe(sonotube type stuff) I am experimenting with. My thoughts are to lay them sideways on the floor behind the seats. It will never be seen and I can keep my seats back almost all the way with minimal hassles.

Over a year later I still need to put carpet on the box. I got the Alpine sub/amp because they match the interior, and Alpine is decent stuff. Back then the sub was $100 and the amp was $200, good bass for what I use it for.

I'm about 5'11" tall, and I didn't lose any room that I use. I wouldn't have done it if I'd have lost room. The seat still has a notch or two that I could scoot it back further.

with that setup could you still use the middle seat without the back of it touching your sub?

Can't use the middle seat (I don't mind, I don't have more than 1 passanger, I can't stand having 3 people in a reg cab pick up truck), but nothing at all touches the sub (that would be bad for the sub....very bad) I can lift the console up almost 80% of the way until it touches the sub. The only reason I put it there is because the lack of room behind the seats, and I think it's awesome being able to look back and see the sub :D. I really need to put carpet on the box tho.

Here's a couple of pics of how much space I have left back there. Pay no attention to the missing trim piece that exposes the painted area, I had to trim the bottom 1" off of the entire length of it so the boxes would clear...I hadn't done it yet at that point.

I did the same thing you did (1 10") but I put carpet on the box before I installed it :fume:

I put my amp under the passenger seat and so far (2 years) it still sounds great. I have no intensions of entering any contests of bass with this set up, but I like hearing it inside the cab when listening to the mellow sounds of Pantera :flag:

It looks like I'm going to go with a slim Pioneer 10" sub that has a depth of about 3". thanks for the help everybody...oh and GatorFan...GO GATORS!
