Neighbor bought the Gen 4 lockpick for $249, took about 5 minutes to install. Not sure if he uses it for Ipod or bluetooth but it does work well for the backup camera and unlocks the nav/dvd unit for viewing when driving.

Looks pretty good. I tried one of their earlier versions just for using my ipod on the touch screen and it did not work very well, returned it. This one does a lot more, but doesn't mention if you can use an ipod through the touch screen (and if it's better than the last one)?

Just a word of caution about Coastaletech: they have a reputation for extremely poor customer service. I've never dealt with them personally, but just do some searches on your engine of choice and you can come to your own conclusions. Here's just one example: Caddy forum. JP Customs also sells things of that nature, and I've heard good things about them. I plan on ordering the GMX-320 from JP Customs next week. The ipod lockpick is also generally regarded as terrible; the quality is very poor and there are better options out there. Many people seem to like the PAC Audio ipod unit.

I bought the GMX-320 lockpick through Coastaletech. I didn't have to deal with them directly so I can't speak to customer service. But the lockpick arrived within 2 days and it was just as described. I installed it in an '08 Suburban with Nav system. It was a bit tight to get all the cables back into the dash behind the radio, but I figured it out and have enjoyed it. Can turn on the back up camera anytime, watched DVDs in the front seat while moving and the best part for me is being able to access the nav system while moving. I recommend it.

 

I'm now searching for an ipod adapter/plug in/remote. I don't hear good things about the Coastal unit but their adds look great on their website.

      You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.

      You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.

      2026 6.6 L5P oil cooler leaking oil at 4,000 miles

      New to diesel trucks. I happened to find my oil cooler leaking oil externally with only 4,000 miles on the truck. I didn’t realize this was an issue until I started researching it. Dealer is going to replace it under warranty but I’m wondering if there’s anything GM is working on to fix this issue. I’ve heard the oil filter used is the same as they use on their V6 motors and that’s what is causing the problems. Should I switch to a bigger filter or keep using the OEM recommended?
