yeah you should be able to with an adapter.......I dont think that you will have Onstar Diagnostics as it uses part of the radio to connect to the GM LAN.

yes you can, if you have a shop install the radio there will be a harness that costs about 75$ ... or if you order from crutchfield .. they will add it to the order for like 35$ ...

once installed .. everything works great ..

yes even with the gm lan setup .. mine works great i can get them to run full diag ... and even get the monthly email with updates on it ...

a note, for it to work you have to get the new adapter for the current setup ... the old adapters will let the radio work but not all other peices will function...

will edit with the product info from crutchfield

Just to make sure I understand you correctly, it is just the NBS that would need the new adaptor if I have the 00-06 trucks I wouldn't need the new adaptor I could use the old one correct?

Why is everyone so down on OnStar? I know it has its faults, and I used to scoff at it too, but then this happened: I was out in the middle of NOWHERE and locked my keys in my truck (no idea how...the delayed locking? brushed the lock button?). It was freezing cold, but luckily I had my cell on me and was able to call OnStar. A few minutes later, the truck was unlocked and I was on my way! I don't know what I would have done, short of breaking a window, as I was far, far away from not only my keys but other people as well.

I like my Onstar, I pulled into the car wash and took the keys out of the ignition and threw them up on the center console got out shut the door got about half way to the coin changer and heard my horn honk , I then went oh s**t keys were locked inside the truck , called Onstar and within 2 to 3 mins my doors were unlocked. I figured that one time ,paid for half a years service for me not having to call Pop-A-Lock.

Just read that thread Mike; that's ridiculous! Kind of makes you wonder what the training program is like. Seems as though it may be kind of lax and they're all reading from the same script.

ummmm, I called Onstar from Progressive (my new job) and they told me (I requested a supervisor) that when a Cadillac/Hummer customer calls, they get routed to the 'elite' team while GMC/Chevy/Pontiac/Saturn and the other brands get routed to the regular customer support center. I told him that this was some "ELITE" team, especially when it did no good. I also told him that I knew that all incoming calls were recorded and told him to pull them. He did and called me back and said that both reps were 'incorrectly informed' as to how the system is setup - but more importantly that I was not helped. He then gave the Slade an extra year free for my troubles (didnt know that I am not the owner as I had all of my buddy's info) now that is customer service for ya...........

Glad to hear that they tried to make things right Mike. Hmm...so someone who buys an H3 or a CTS gets the elite team, while us Denali owners get the "regular" team, even though we probably paid more. I'm not following the logic here. I had an experience similar to yours, except I was calling OnStar from my home. I don't even want to get in to it, but let's just say some of the people that work there may be functionally retarded.

based on what he told me GMC= Regular Customer Assistance (I didnt even know that there was a difference).......which means If i got the 'elite' team and that bad experience, what can ya'll expect......

    • You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
    • Diesel hit $6.00 here today at the truck stop.   Payed $2.79 for E85 today too.
    • Thanks for posting, I'm sure it will help someone
    • New to diesel trucks. I happened to find my oil cooler leaking oil externally with only 4,000 miles on the truck. I didn’t realize this was an issue until I started researching it. Dealer is going to replace it under warranty but I’m wondering if there’s anything GM is working on to fix this issue. I’ve heard the oil filter used is the same as they use on their V6 motors and that’s what is causing the problems. Should I switch to a bigger filter or keep using the OEM recommended?
    • So, GMCustomerService:  Judging by the Update History pictured above, is this truck missing any updates that it actually needs. If it's just for the infotainment system, the radio is working fine and no trouble with SeriusXM. and Android Auto is working fine wirelessly with my phone. Some months ago, an update notice was sent to my truck. I approved the update and it finished saying that the update was successful, but it seems that whatever that update was, it didn't actually get installed - at least not if I'm to go by the Update History shown above.   So, again, are there any updates that this truck really should have? I've checked with my dealer but they're reluctant or commit to anything and if I want them to check, they require a $200.00 fee just to check it out and then I'd have to pay for the actual update(s).    Ignorance is bliss, and if none of the updates goes to fixing any mechanical discrepancies, I'll just leave things as is.
