with my s10's i would remove the plastic from the back wall, mount the amp to it and then snap it back into place....would this not work here?

That would be nice, but there's no plastic panel. You've got the back sheet metal wall and a thick fabric/rubber mat over it. The seats butt right up to that.

Nice work and thanks for the posting. I plan on doing about the same thing you have done very soon. I was thinking of running the amp power under the truck and finding a used grommet under the rear seats to use to enter the cab. I did this to a Ford extended cab years ago. Being you have seen the area was there a spot under the seats to use?

Thanks. I don't recall seeing any kind of plug along the bottom of the cab near the rear wall --but I wasn't really looking that hard either. There may very well be somethig there. Let me know what you find.

 

That spot on the firewall is easily drilled, but there wasn't much room to run alot of wiring down the side of the cab. You may have more space depending on what options your truck has. If it's tight, then running the big amp power wire under the cab may be a better solution. I had to punch a hole in the back there to run the ground to the frame anyway.
