GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.

Had the same problem on my old 99, (power) and 2000 Sierra (manual) guess GM didn't really care much to fix this issue either with the 900s, I suppose I should expect the Fuel guage/sending unit to start going to hell at around 70,000 miles and the G-80 to bite the dust around 90,000 miles. I wonder what else GM has carried over to the GMT-900s that they knew would have issues, but did not want to spend the $$$ to upgrade.

Jacking my own thread here (I dont care if ya'll dont). I did have a question, what exactly failed on your old GM truck ryan? (a list please with mileage of when part failed) The purpose to my question is determine if I should start replacing parts before they fail....thanks for the comment Bostonsfavson.

I know I am going to get flamed for my way of thinking but oh well....

You don't get flamed in here Mike. You have contributed a ton of good stuff to this site. I am sure many of us have your back!

yeah my train of thought is the same when it comes to oil changes and what not. Most everybody I know (dad included) changes things out before they go. dad changed altenator at 100,000 miles, changed battery after 3 years - dont know the mileage, changed the rotors and pads once the rotors were on the second set of pads, replaced the passenger side light bulb when the drivers went out (yes he changed the drivers at the same time). Dad pretty much taught me to listen for the 'small' things that give the tell tell signs of when something is about to fail. That is my train of thought when it comes to replacing things. the only reason I am looking for additional info is so I can begin to listen for the small things around that time (if that type of thinking makes any kind of sense). I can guarantee you that I dont care what my truck is sounding like right now, because it is under the factory warranty (it aint costing me anything) and I just make an appointment and take it it. Sorry if this offends someone........

I still have the squeaking windows on both front doors, but it's getting better with time. The first day I got her home, HOLY COW did they make noise!!! It screwed me up mentally (well, more than usual), to the point where I stop myself from lowering the windows, even when I need to. Like I said, it's getting better, but I need to get to the dealer to take care of this and that little matter about the leaking oil TSB.

Thanks for the heads-up, Mike!

Where is your vehicle leaking oil from Victor?

Will, it used to be one little half-drop of new oil, but I got under there to TRY to take a pic today and now it's all over the place and dark. I checked the dip stick and she's okay on the level, but I still need to make time to get her to the dealership... :D
